The Feast

The Feast

Have you ever anticipated eating in one of your favorite restaurants and avoided eating before the meal? If I ever plan to go to a Brazilian Steak House for Dinner, I pass on lunch. Brazilian Steakhouses are set up in such a way that you can eat and eat until you have to flip that card to red.
Mostly, if I’m going to pass on a lunch, it’s because I know I’m going to eat a nice Steak Dinner. When I am in Kansas City, I will pass on lunch if I know I’m going to visit Jack Stack. Chiefs Kingdom, we are about to be treated to an Offensive Feast that we’ve been waiting on for 13 months!

Our Offensive output so far this season has been leading us to this moment, where we have our full complement of weaponry now that Rashee Rice is ready to play. Against the Lions, we saw many glimpses of greatness against what some would say was the NFL’s best team, yet the Chiefs were missing our greatest wide-receiver weapon! Our Offense rolled up 369 yards, scored four touchdowns, and the Chiefs even gained 112 yards on the ground while allowing a running back Isiah Pacheco to lead the team in rushing instead of QB1.

The Chiefs took control of the Lions game after halftime. The Chiefs went on one of the most balanced and impressive drives of the season. The drive started with a 9-yard pass to Brashard Smith. Every time he touches the ball, he seems to gain at least 9 yards. That was followed by a nice 7-yard run by Pop, a sideline pass to Noah Gray, a pass to Taylor’s fiancée, a screen to Kareem, a scramble by MVPat, and finally a shovel pass to Hollywood for a touchdown. This touchdown put the Chiefs up 20-10, and they never looked back. The drive was a throwback to classic showtime Chiefs, and it was plain for all to see that the Chiefs’ swagger in the Offense was back. Hollywood’s Brown capped off the night with two touchdowns while celebrating his faith baptism.

Speaking of faith, there is a great verse in the bible about a Great Feast. In Luke 14 v 15, Jesus says – “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God”. I love the imagery of what this will look like in Heaven. A feast! A million times better than Brazillian Steak! With all of our loved ones, I am sure. God invites everyone to that feast; we only need to accept his invitation to follow him!

Getting back to the upcoming feast, we will welcome back Rashee Rice to the Kingdom on Sunday. No doubt that he will be greeted with a huge reception to the feast! The Raiders have always played our Chiefs tough on defense, but I cannot possibly see a scenario where this ascending Chiefs Offense is contained. There are too many Chiefs weapons and too many mouths that will feast on the home cooking. I expect our defense to contain rookie Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty and Raiders Tight End Brock Bowers, who are the legitimate playmakers on that Raiders Offense. If we contain these two Raiders playmakers, it will be a long day for the Raiders and a coming-out party for Rashee. We have been starving for this moment where our big three receivers Worthy, Brown, and Rice are on the same field at the same time. It’s time. Let’s go!
